Welcome to TF-RD

Tropical Forest and Rural Development
Together let's build nature's economy

By conserving ecosystems and protecting endangered species, TF-RD strengthens local communities, enhances resilience, and reduces poverty around Protected Areas.

Our Story

Nurturing Nature,
Empowering Communities

TFRD is dedicated to creating a sustainable harmony between the lush tropical forests of Cameroon and the rural communities that call them home.

Our Mission

Cameroonian NGO TF-RD promotes biodiversity conservation and sustainable development near Dja and Campo Ma’an parks. They empower communities through environmental education, ecotourism, and eco-lodges, ensuring fair benefit-sharing and ecosystem protection.

Our Vision

To build autonomous and resilient communities where socio-economic development sustainably contributes to biodiversity conservation.

Since our inception, we have worked with over 100 local families to transition from subsistence farming to high-value, sustainable forest products. By valuing the standing forest more than its timber, we ensure long-term conservation and economic dignity.
